Production

Traditionally extracted from camphor laurel trees, modern camphor powder comes from pine tree wood via a distillation process yielding the bicyclic ketone. Indian manufacturers like those on IndiaMART produce it in bulk, often in 5-30 kg packs for industrial needs.  

Common Uses

• Religious: Burned as incense in Hindu rituals for purification.

• Medicinal: Relieves pain, cough, skin irritation, and congestion when used in balms or steam.

• Other: Insect repellent, room freshener, and plasticizer in manufacturing.
